Meet Kobi Clements

Welcome to the Riide Tiime Family: Meet Kobi Clements

"The ocean has always been home."

The best mornings begin before the rest of the world wakes up.

The forecast has already been checked. The coffee is still too hot to drink. A surfboard leans against the garage wall, waiting for first light. The streets are quiet, and the only decision left is which break to surf first.

If you know that feeling, you already understand the world Kobi Clements comes from.

Long before he was competing around the globe or establishing himself as one of Australia's most exciting young professional surfers, Kobi was simply another kid chasing waves on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

In many ways, not much has changed.

That authenticity is exactly why we're proud to welcome Kobi to the Riide Tiime family.

This partnership isn't about sponsorship. It isn't about adding another athlete to our ambassador team.

It's about recognising someone who genuinely lives the values our brand was built on—quality over shortcuts, adventure over routine, craftsmanship over compromise, and a life spent outdoors.

Some partnerships are built through contracts.

The best ones are built through shared values.

This is one of those.

Raised by the Ocean

Some people discover surfing.

Others never know a life without it.

Kobi belongs firmly in the second group.

Raised around Narrabeen and Long Reef on Sydney's Northern Beaches, the ocean has shaped every stage of his life. From an early age he learned that the sea rewards patience, punishes ego, and never gives away anything easily.

Those lessons extend well beyond surfing.

They shape how you approach challenges, how you treat people, and how you carry yourself.

Spend enough time in the ocean and you develop a deep respect—for the conditions, for the coastline, and for everyone sharing it with you.

That humility is something we've admired in Kobi from the very beginning.

Despite competing internationally on the World Surf League Qualifying Series, representing Australia, and earning recognition as one of the country's top young surfers, he still speaks about home with genuine affection.

His family.

His friends.

The beaches that made him.

Nothing about it feels manufactured.

It's simply who he is.

More Than a Professional Surfer

If you ask Kobi to describe himself, "professional surfer" only tells part of the story.

He's a waterman.

When the surf isn't pumping, he's still in the ocean—diving, spearfishing, exploring reefs, or travelling to remote coastlines in search of new experiences.

His connection to the ocean goes far beyond competition.

That relationship becomes obvious the moment you watch him surf.

There's a calmness to the way he approaches powerful waves. Whether threading heavy barrels, charging reef breaks or drawing clean, powerful lines across open faces, he never appears to fight the ocean.

He moves with it.

That confidence isn't built on ego.

It's built on familiarity.

The ocean isn't somewhere Kobi visits.

It's where he feels most at home.

Built on Craftsmanship

One of the first things we noticed when getting to know Kobi was his appreciation for quality equipment.

The best surfers don't simply ride surfboards.

They understand them.

Every curve.

Every rail.

Every subtle adjustment that changes the way a board performs beneath their feet.

Throughout his career, Kobi has proudly represented respected brands including Volcom, Chilli Surfboards, Creatures of Leisure, Futures, Boost Mobile and OTIS Eyewear—companies recognised for quality, innovation and authenticity.

We're incredibly proud that Riide Tiime now sits alongside those names.

Because our philosophy isn't all that different.

Whether we're designing our RTC Surf Rack, refining the geometry of a bike frame or selecting every component that goes into a Riide Tiime build, we're driven by the same goal:

Create products that simply feel right.

Not by adding more.

By removing compromise.

People who value craftsmanship usually recognise it immediately.

That's one of the reasons this partnership felt so natural from the very beginning.

The Northern Beaches Mindset

There's a reason so many great Australian surfers come from Sydney's Northern Beaches.

It's more than the waves.

It's the lifestyle.

Early mornings.

Boardriders clubs.

Coffee after a surf.

Checking three different beaches before deciding where to paddle out.

Growing up in that environment teaches you something important:

The best days are rarely planned.

They're discovered.

That's exactly how we've always thought about Riide Tiime.

Our bikes aren't simply built to get you somewhere.

They're built for everything that happens along the way.

The spontaneous surf checks.

The extra coffee stop.

The road you hadn't planned to take.

The coastline you've driven past a hundred times but never properly explored.

Watching Kobi live that lifestyle every day made us realise something.

We weren't asking him to fit our brand.

Our brand already fit the life he was living.

Character Over Results

Kobi's achievements speak for themselves.

A seven-time Surfing NSW Regional Champion.

Australia's No.1 ranked junior surfer in 2021.

An Australian representative at the ISA World Junior Championships.

A competitor on the World Surf League Qualifying Series.

Those accomplishments deserve enormous respect.

But they aren't why we wanted Kobi to join Riide Tiime.

Results change.

Rankings evolve.

Careers take different paths.

Character doesn't.

What impressed us wasn't simply what Kobi has achieved.

It was how he achieved it.

There's a quiet confidence about him.

A genuine humility.

A willingness to keep learning.

A belief that tomorrow's waves matter more than yesterday's results.

That's the mindset we're proud to stand beside.

Built for Everyday Adventure

The best equipment doesn't only perform when it matters most.

It becomes part of everyday life.

For Kobi, surfing begins long before he paddles into a wave.

It starts with checking the forecast.

Watching the wind.

Meeting friends.

Heading towards the beach before sunrise.

His customised Riide Tiime bike has become part of that daily ritual.

Fitted with our RTC Surf Rack and built for life on the coast, it's how he moves between home, the beach and everything in between.

Whether he's heading out for an early-morning surf check, grabbing coffee after a session or cruising the coastline looking for cleaner conditions, his bike has become another trusted piece of equipment.

Not because it's complicated.

Because it simply works.

That's exactly how we believe great products should feel.

Reliable.

Beautifully built.

Ready for wherever the day leads.

Looking Ahead

What excites us most isn't what Kobi has already accomplished.

It's what comes next.

The next competition.

The next country.

The next perfect wave.

The next sunrise.

The next adventure waiting to unfold.

Like every great journey, the destination is only part of the story.

The memories are made somewhere along the way.

Over the coming months you'll see Kobi doing exactly what he's always done—travelling, surfing, exploring, testing equipment and chasing empty beaches.

You'll see the moments between the moments.

The early starts.

The surf checks.

The road trips.

The everyday adventures that make this lifestyle so rewarding.

Not because we've asked him to.

Because that's simply how he lives.

And that's exactly why we're proud to have him representing Riide Tiime.
